4 large pieces of fried fish (see recipe for fried fish if needed) | |
1.5 Onions, chopped (sweet or yellow) | |
3 Tbsp butter | |
1.5 Tbsp olive oil | |
4 Tbsp flour | |
2 Cups of water | |
1 Tsp Better than Bullion chicken flavor | |
Salt and pepper to taste |
Smothered goodness!
1. | In a large heavy pan, saute onions and olive oil for approximatly 3 mins on medium heat. Add Butter and saute until melted. |
2. | Add Flour and brown until onions and flour turns brown. |
3. | After 2 mins, add your fish and let simmer on low for about 5 mins. |
4. | Once brown in color after about 20 mins, add water, Better than Bouillon and salt and pepper to taste. Stir well. |
5. | After your smuthered fish and gravy is hot, check on your grits and add butter. |
6. | Serve hot and add hot sauce as needed. Enjoy! |
